4TheYouth Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Duong Tue Linh, a seventh-grade student from Tran Dai Nghia High School, Ho Chi Minh City, as Acting Vice Project Lead for the Landfill Cinderella Virtual Library project at SOS Children’s Village, Ho Chi Minh City.
Linh has been involved with the project since its inception and has also participated in other 4TheYouth Foundation initiatives supporting K’Ho children in Dang Sron, Lam Dong.
“Hello everyone!
I was deeply moved when I first learned about the story of William Kamkwamba, a young boy from Malawi, a country in East Africa. Growing up in a farming family with limited resources, William could only attend school occasionally due to the high fees. But his love for learning was unstoppable. Using a discovered library book, William taught himself to build a wind turbine from scrap materials to power his family’s home. His innovation brought light to his village and countless others as his story spread worldwide. William’s determination and resilience remind us that education can transform even the most challenging situations.
Stories like William’s highlight how essential it is for every child to have access to education. Education empowers children to build better lives for themselves and their communities. This belief in the power of education led us to join the Landfill Cinderella Virtual Library project. We want to ensure that underprivileged children, especially those in rural areas, have the chance to unlock their potential and pursue their dreams.
